Inspiring Other Practitioners

On Tuesday, our HNI staff came together to share aspects of 'voice and choice' from our learner agency PLD focus this year. It was a minimum expectation that all staff would embark upon this concept in their planning, teaching and learning and classroom culture for 2017. Hearing different stories was uplifting. Our group all talked about being two steps ahead of learners and having plenty of resources and frameworks available to them so they could agentically navigate their learning pathway. Also, so they had resources that would support/link with learning goals they were engaged with. From our whole staff synopsis, there were some common themes that arose that will now become focus areas for 2018. I am especially engrossed in the concept of both teacher and learner collaboration. I believe we do a lot of bouncing ideas around and resource sharing however, true collaboration will challenge our thinking which is sometimes limited with our own mindset. Watch the space!!!
